Privacy Policy

The Python Developer Tooling Handbook (pydevtools.com) collects as little personal data as it can. This page explains what is processed, by whom, and why.

Last updated: June 1, 2026.

Analytics

The handbook uses Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics service. Plausible measures aggregate traffic (page views, referrers, countries, device types) without cookies and without collecting personal data. It does not track visitors across sites or build advertising profiles, and it processes data on EU-based servers. See the Plausible data policy.

Cookies

The handbook sets no first-party cookies. Because the analytics are cookieless, browsing the site requires no cookie-consent banner.

Newsletter

Subscribing to the newsletter is optional. The signup form is handled by Buttondown, which stores the email address you submit so it can send newsletter issues. Subscription uses double opt-in: an address is added only after you confirm it through a link emailed to you. Every issue includes an unsubscribe link that removes your address from the list. See the Buttondown privacy policy.

Feedback form

The feedback form is handled by Web3Forms, which forwards submissions to the site owner by email. Only the information you choose to enter in the form is processed. See the Web3Forms privacy policy.

Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes request metadata, including IP addresses, to deliver pages and protect against abuse. See the Cloudflare privacy policy.

What the handbook does not do

  • It does not sell or rent personal data.
  • It does not serve third-party advertising.
  • It does not track visitors across other websites.

Your choices and rights

You can read the entire handbook without providing any personal data. If you have subscribed to the newsletter or sent feedback and want your data corrected or deleted, reach the site owner through the feedback form.

Changes
